Ladd Foundation’s mission is to give youth access to resources which support their health and wellbeing. Rooted in personal experiences and a firm belief that it is critical to give back to your community, Ladd Foundation addresses a variety of issues impacting young people, such as mental health and wellbeing, meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities, physical health, the environment and fighting poverty. The primary initiative of Ladd Foundation is 1616.

1616 is a 16-week mental, physical and social wellbeing experience for youth hockey teams that blends real-life stories and on-ice drills from NHL players with proven research-based curriculum and tools. The program is designed by a team of experts to help youth hockey players, along with parents and coaches, create enriched environments that promote healthy development.

The Ladd Foundation supports a broad range of causes, namely focused on youth and the environment. We are especially aware of issues impacting the health and wellbeing of young people, such as disabilities, illness, mental health and poverty. Our goal is to give individuals with limited opportunity access to the help they need.

In Canada, Ladd Foundation is a Federal not-for-profit corporation incorporated under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act. In the United States, Ladd Foundation operates as a non-profit organization through its fiscal sponsor the Edward Charles Foundation.

Our hope is that participating individuals have a greater opportunity to experience joy, engage with others, and benefit for a lifetime.

“Every parent wants the best for their kids, whether that’s opportunity or health. Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to be able to provide those things to their children. We have great compassion for those parents and if we can alleviate some of the stress that comes with facing these issues, we want to help.”
